Some of the movie was good. I concur, though, that apart from any Jar-Jar appearance, the movie had some of the gayest moments... but that's neither here nor there...
The show itself gets way better than the movie. I, like many others, thought that if they just stuck to the original plan and kept it on tv, the hate for it wouldn't be
nearly what it was.
So we discussed this in the IHN forums, then as the episodes started on TV someone started a 'rank-as-you-go' thread to rate each episode.
My entries were simple, I'd list the episodes from favourite to least. Some would go as far as to list stats of ratings, production order, show order, blah, blah, which I always ignored.
(I hope you're still with me because I'm kind of giggling at the stupidity of all of this as I'm tying...)
Anyhoo...
Theses kids (and most of the people who post there I think are well under 21) started rating the movie along with the show in their lists. Some would stick the movie as a whole in their list (like me), but others would enter and rate the movie broken down into 3 parts, making me think "oh God, really? that's gay". Then I thought about it, and OCD took over.
3 episodes? That's wrong. It can't be. That would make it only 66 minutes long. It had to be at least 4, and looking into it, I discovered it was, with 10 minutes of stuff edited into it to make it flow a bit more, or whatever.
I called CJ (and all the others) on this. They (they being CJ and some kids who agreed with him because he's a host and I am not) got irked - which I found funny. The more irked they got, the more citings I threw into the pot - including wookieepedia, Jay Sheppard, Nathan Butler, and even Dave Filoni n the movie's audio commentary.
Eventually CJ broke down on the show. He got really upset, which was NOT my intention. But it was still kind of funny. I genuinely like CJ, I really do. But man is it fun riling him up soemtimes!!
