Something I'd like to hear the VOR dudes discuss is if/how they plan to introduce Star Wars to the next generation of dicks.

When introducing your illegitimate children to Star Wars, will you show them the Original Trilogy first the way God intended? Will you show them the Prequel Trilogy first because you know how to count? Will you read them X-Wing novels before bedtime because you're padawaneagle?

yeah. That is what they will do, do you even need to ask? They will deff show the OT first.

Now Lucas plans to introduce younglings with the new TV shows.

I think that is what any right-thinking person would do. Seeing the PT first would lessen the impact of things like meeting Yoda for the first time, the mystical mystery of the force and the reveal at the end of ESB.

Still, I'm sure there are people out there who feel differently.

Well David speaking as a newly crowned father  I can tell you the only way to go is the real, scuse' me original trilogy then the fakequels. Like you said it's the only way to truly appreciate the nuances of the cohesive story (lolz) that George Lucas had created so many years ago! Besides my kid is not going to learn "sand...it gets everywhere." before "But I was going into Tosche Station to pick up some power converters..."

Besides otherwise they become like movie watchers, more concerned with how it looks than the overall story...teach them how to read, with Star wars EU!

Okay. Now I just sound silly. But personally I would agree on the OT before the Prequel Trilogy.

I have to agree; the originals first, then the prequels. The surprises and plot-twists of the originals don't have any impact if you already know about them from watching the prequel movies. And I'm with padawaneagle on the EU as well; the Star Wars books are a good way to help young fans develop a love for reading! Just have them skip the Dark Nest books; they sucked.

By the way, congrats on your graduation to fatherhood, Deak! :)

I liked Dark Nest. especially the cut part where she and everyone wakes up naked or almost naked after the orgy.

 That's annoying. Its random its stupid. I hate Jaina's characterization especially during the dark nest books.

I showed my oldest kid the original trilogy then the prequels but the younger ones watch whatever is on. Order does not matter much to any of them. My 6 year old does refer to them as “your movies” and my movies”. His favorite is Return of the Jedi, he loves ewoks.
